Is your trackbar making a loud "pop" noise when you turn?

       Tight feeling, quiet suspension, mandates making sure the mounting bolts are tightened to spec. "Tight" is a subjective form of measure. "I used a 300ft/lb impact wrench", means nothing. Most often when the correct bolt torque is used, people are shocked how much force and leverage it takes to get the bolts to spec. To keep the component from shifting around, any through-bolt mounted component is 100% dependent on ONLY the bolt torque squeezing the part between the mounts. How loose or tight the tolerance is of the mounting bolt, as it slips through the component, means absolutely nothing. If you are getting a loud "pop" when you turn back in forth while barely moving, the mounting bolts are not tight enough. Simple as that.

         If the socket that fits your trackbar bolts is 18mm, you need to torque to 180ft/lbs. If your socket required is 21mm or larger, you need 210ft/lbs.


Grease to use for all suspension components

      We suggest you use a high quality synthetic grease. Synthetic grease is usually thinner, which is what you want. Being thinner lets the grease flow and move around, which can seem like what you DON'T want. Thing is, all grease will get pushed out of high pressure areas, but a thinner grease at least has a chance of flowing back in to the places it needs to be. Thick grease will normally get pushed into a cavity, then dry up, and stay there out of the way doing nothing.

Greasing the frame/bushing side of the trackbar

      Getting rid of the OEM track bar, which has simple rubber bushings, does mandate some extra care. If you don't grease the frame side of our trackbar bushing through the grease zerk, especially when new, you can get some decent creaking sounds from the bushing. This creaking usually goes away after the bushing breaks-in and flows grease well. The bushing we designed is SO tight, it often will not flow grease for a few thousand miles, minimum. Once it breaks in and flows grease, it should be quiet for thousands of miles at a time. When new, you will try to pump the grease gun but the level will feel solid. This is normal untill the bushing breaks in.

Trackbar axle side heim joint

       The axle side Hiem Joint is a virtually care-free part. If it gets deflection in it and starts rattling, replace it. If you live in an environment with heavy road-salt or corrosion, brushing a little grease on the joint every now and then will help keep corrosion controlled. That said, we usually see 50,000 miles or so minimum from the high end FK heim joint we use.

Heim joint jam nut imprtant details

       The heim joint jam nut needs to be basically as tight as you can get it! If the heim joint jam nut comes loose it is very hard to catch, and if the loose joint hammers out the threads, this does void your warranty. Really make sure that jam nut is EXTREMELY tight before you install the bar!!
