  • Better weight handling than the stock rear coils.
  • Provide about 1/2" lift over stock height.**
  • Approximately 10% softer than stock spring rate while the axle is in droop, and about 20% stiffer that the OEM coils, when loaded down.
  • Each 5160 alloy spring is fully CNC computer formed and tested, using the most high-tech manufacturing processes.

Our Ram 1500 Dual-Rate rear coils were conceived, to help improve many aspects of the rear suspension. We were hoping to extract as much rear suspension travel out of the truck, while also increasing the main spring rate, to help the truck better deal with bed weight.

When the axle drops into a hole the spring rate is softer than stock allowing a longer spring, and this is how we get the extra suspension travel. With our Ram 1500 Dual-Rate coils installed you can now run the longest travel shocks that will bolt into the factory mounting.

** These coils are rather new, so we do not have accurate lift height measurements for all the different weights, or cab configurations. The 1/2" lift is referring to the most common Crew-Cab standard bed configuration.

Included:

  • Dual rate Coil (x2)

I swapped these Thuren coils along with track bar with hopes of accomplishing 2 things. Off roading prowess and still being able to tow the travel trailer with ease. First off the ride comfort with these coils paired with the fox 2.0’s is very plush no matter how big the bump. My rear is actually much softer now than my front with Fox 2.5 DSC’s. My young kids in booster seats approve of their new rear comfort.
However this spring may not be exactly the right fit and I’m going to experiment some more. I lost 3/4 inch height right away on a 21 eco diesel with ORP and a 80 lbs folding tonnue cover. A full fuel tank has more exaggeration. I also have extra sag than before besides the height loss with the TT hooked up with bars on. So these coils vs 5th Gen rebel/ORP coils you sacrifice height and a little load capacity. They say 20% stiffer under load so I expected to have similar sag. So disappointment there.
There’s definitely give and take but in the end these coils do ride great. They’d probably be better suited and amazing when I upgrade to the fox 2.5 DSC’s in rear as well to help tame the soft coil. You will feel large wind gusts push you more. So a Bilstein or 2.5 would be better suited if that’s a concern. Proper air bags are needed for towing heavy but will that ruin the the off roading prowess desired? I guess I’ll find out… Hope this helps with some real world views as these springs cover many years with varying spring rates and ride height.
Great quality product! As usual with truck stuff, you may need a different part or some extra parts to dial it in just right.
