Compared to our Fox 2.0 shocks, the tuning in the Bilstein 5100 shocks is a bit more firm, but not so firm as to make the ride quality stiffer than OEM suspension. If you like a less floaty more planted sports-car feel, or have some weight added to the truck especially with a high center of gravity, these shocks are a great option!

Bilstein 5100 Shocks

I purchased these shocks in preparation for leveling the front of my 2012 Ram 2500. I decided to use the "puck" kit vs a spring leveling kit due to the cost, but also purchased these shocks and the Thuren track bar in case I didn't like the "puck" solution I would be ready for the Thuren spring replacement solution.

Installation of the Bilstein 5100 shocks went quite easy, the only issue was aligning the bottom of the shock in the shock mount, but we figured that out fairly easily. The truck had the original shocks from 2012 and the replacement with the Bilstein shocks did improve the ride even with the "puck" solution. I would recommend these shocks to anyone!!

Shocks and springs working very well, wish I could have done this years ago.

Parts were worth the money.

My second gen Cummins 4x4 feels amazing now. Thuren 2.5 XS springs with the bilstein 5100s feel amazing and along with their tracking bar it’s part of the perfect recipe for the best feeling & steering front end. I should have got the 4 links control arms, I got another brand, I’ll probably grab the Thuren links someday. Currently I’m very satisfied though. Just drove 700 miles and truck felt better than ever.
