1998.5-2002 Dodge Ram 3500 Active Rate Sway Bar

SKU: TF-FSWBK-9802

Regular price $620.00

Our Swaybar is a softer rate than the stock unit, allowing the axle to move more independently side to side. This smooths out off camber bumps, pot holes, and even simply turning into a drive way.

Fitment:

  • 1998.5-2002 Ram 3500 4x4
  • 1998.5-2002 Ram 2500 4x4
  • 1998.5-2002 Ram 1500 4x4
  • Does not fit 1994 to early 1998 axles with the "Cobra style" axle mount.
  • NOTE: Some add-on steering braces may interfere with our Sway Bar. If you have one, email us a picture of your brace to verify compatibility.

Details:

  • Uses no solid joints like Heim joints or solid bushings. In this application, Heims can become noisy very early in the life-cycle, with the Swaybar moving so much.
  • 6061 Billet Aluminum Swaybar Links on 0"-4" version.
  • 6 grease Zerk fittings used throughout the assembly.
  • Same proven JKS Poly orbital joints as used in our other Swaybar links.
  • Not recommended if you have a much higher center of gravity. For example, a slide in camper, or a heavy Roof Top Tent(RTT) equipped Overlanding build.
  • Our Active Rate Sway Bar functions great with heavy Gooseneck and 5th wheel towing, heavy weight in the bed below the top rail, or heavy weight on the bumper receiver hitch.

Included:

  • Sway bar
  • Frame mounts
  • End links
  • Bar clamps
  • and hardware

Not so great for modified trucks

If you plan on keeping the stock wheels and going with a larger tire the tire will run on the sway bar. Thuren does not include this information anywhere, and when talking to customer support they were no help, and since it was installed they only offered a 70 precent return. If there was no rubbing the product would be great.

Hello! When installing larger and wider tires on the factory high positive offset wheels, there comes benefits, and downsides. Main benefit is more fender and bumper clearance when turning, by keeping the wheels tucked in. Downside is the wider tread tires will also rub on even the OEM Swaybar, and most often the control arms also, when turning full steering lock. Since this way of adding bigger wider tires rubs factory components, we don't feel the need to mention that the tires can also rub on our components. In conclusion, the way you decided to modify your truck is the cause of the rub, not our Swaybar. - Don

    Phenomenal Product

I havent had a sway bar on my truck for 6 years. Finally I got tired of the “boat-like” feel. I will say everything was straight forward on install. My truck has a PSC Big bore box, so the sway bar needs a 3/8 inch spacer to fit. I made 2 spacers out of 3/8inch x2 inch flat steel bar. Truck rides so much better, tracks true, no more wind/road shifts. I should have done this so much earlier.
