The original equipment upper rear shock mounting nuts are very hard, if not almost impossible, to get a standard wrench on. Cutting down a wrench to make it fit the space available, is often your only option.

To avoid cutting wrenches and wasting time, this set gives you a custom laser cut wrench for removing the OEM nuts, and 2 new nuts with tabs attached to make servicing the rear shocks much easier!

Must Have Kit

If you're replacing the rear shocks on your truck this is a must have kit, taking off the upper bolt near the gas tank was a nightmare trying to get a socket on to the bolt itself and trying to loosen it. Having this kitten place will make shock replacement in the future so much more easier. If you're a do-it-yourself person spend the extra cash and get this kit.

Definitely worth the investment

These are awesome! I tried the home made 21mm wrench, but it would pop off before I could tighten the nut properly.

You gotta get this!

Replacing the shocks on a Ram 1500 4th Gen? Do yourself a huge favor and buy this set. No more trying to find a stubby wrench, or mutilating a perfectly good wrench. The new nuts and keepers are awesome, but the included "wrench" to slip over your existing nuts is just about the best thing since sliced bread. Worth every penny to avoid long streams of profanity and thrown tools.

Shock nut retainers

Made changing my shocks much easier to accomplish, without this tool I would have had to cut a wrench to the proper size needed to keep the nut from spinning. I did have to back-off the tang just a tiny bit for it to slide over the nylock nut , but it still held tight and made removal a breeze. I highly recommend this as there is little work room for conventional tools, although I suspect that a crows foot would do the job just as well . But I do not possess any of those yet. It is even better that you get THREE retainers ,so you can leave the two that came with nylock nuts on the truck until the next time service is required, and still have one for use on customers trucks. Once again a great idea ,however it’s a little costly considering a couple years ago they were less than half of what they go for now. I guess it’s just a sign of the times ,but like they say if you wanna play you gotta pay. I can’t think of anything else that no one wants to hear , but sure am hoping these adjustable shocks will help with the hook-up. Fresh aftermarket control arms rectified the hopping and squishy feeling, now for gripsion. The bottle is finally finished as am I , g’nite . Vernen t.
